L. Bodnar, Mariehamn

L. Bodnar, originally uploaded by Mirabilia.

L. Bodnar, Mariehamn (Finland). Found loose tucked in the back of the Victorian photo album from New York City. Might be part of the family shown in the album, or just odd bits tucked in by thrift store staff.

    Hello!

I live on the Ålands Islands, just outside Mariehamn. Really interesting that this photo made it all the way to US. As you might have figured Bodnar was one of the most prominent portrait photographers in Mariehamn. Is all the pictures here from the same album? Then it wouldn’t be so strange if there was a man in a Russian Uniform, Finland was a Russian protectorat(is that right?) and some people here did join the russian army.

Well, i’m sorry i cant tell you more about the picture.. but hope that was something new… If you want to know more about the Åland islands, sen me an e-mail!
